Meet Ferragamo’s New Creative Director, Maximilian Davis
The Italian luxury shoe house recently announced its new creative director: up-and-coming and wildly popular British designer Maximiliano Davis. Before Davis, Pablo Andres , an American shoe designer, was the creative director of Ferragamo until he resigned in April 2020.
Ferragamo CEO said of his appointment: “Maximilian Davis’s clarity of vision coupled with level of execution and powerful aesthetic make him one of the brightest talents of his generation. His work is defined by elegance, refined sensuality and a constant commitment to quality. Through the lens of his contemporary sensibility, he will write an exciting new chapter for this home built on a heritage of outstanding creativity, craftsmanship, sophistication and human values,” according to the brand’s official Instagram account.
Davis also took to Instagram to share that he is “deeply honored to join @Ferragamo and grateful for the opportunity to build on the deep and rich heritage of the house.
Ferragamo represents a dedication to timeless elegance and sophistication that I find incredibly inspiring. I am looking forward to articulating my vision, elevated by the codes of Italian craftsmanship, quality and innovation.”
The British-Trinidadian designer, who was a semi-finalist in this year’s LVMH Prize, studied at the London College of Fashion and has worked with leading designers such as Wales Bonner, Mowalola, Asai and Supriya Lele.
The designer launched his namesake label in 2020 and quickly rose to success as his designers were spotted on the red carpet, gracing fashion icons like Rihanna jourdan dun, kim kardashian and dualipa among others.
